Payroll & Superannuation

Completing payroll is one of the most critical tasks in running a business, impacting every aspect of the organization, from employee morale to the financial stability of the company. Given the time-consuming nature of payroll, it is crucial to perform it consistently and accurately. From ensuring that employees are paid the correct amount to accurate withholding and timely payment of state taxes, accuracy is just as important as consistency. To achieve this efficiently, outsourcing payroll to a trusted provider is highly recommended.

Payroll Services – The Extras

Veliable Accounting goes beyond to offer a full suite of payroll services, including interpreting awards, calculating rates, overtime pay and time in lieu, calculating accruals for leaves, and superannuation guarantee. Our clients can choose their software, or we can assist in software advice and implementation.

Single Touch Payroll (STP)

The Australian Government's Single Touch Payroll (STP) initiative, which aims to reduce reporting burdens across government agencies, requires that employees' payroll information is reported to ATO each time they are paid through STP-enabled software. Our team is equipped to help you report payroll information, including salaries and wages, pay as you go (PAYG) withholding, and super. STP presents a great incentive for businesses to review their payroll software and improve internal processes to ensure more compliant reporting.

*STP started on 1 July 2018 for employers with 20 or more employees and 1 July 2019 for employers with 19 or fewer employees. ATO provided a number of concessions depending on the business, industry, or employer type. These will largely end as of 1 July 2021 and you will need to be reporting each pay day through STP by this date.

Small Business Superannuation Clearing House (SBSCH)

The Small Business Superannuation Clearing House (SBSCH) is a service that eligible businesses with 19 or fewer employees or an annual aggregated turnover of less than $10 million can use to make super guarantee (SG) contributions. The SBSCH allows businesses to make a single electronic payment for their SG contributions, which the SBSCH then distributes to each employee's super fund.
